Abstract

The study was conducted in 2014–2015 to examine how NP levels affected the growth and yield of ispaghol (Psyllium seed). The following treatments were used: T1 = 0-0 kg NP ha-1 (Control), T2 = 20-10 kg NP ha-1, T3 = 40-20 kg NP ha-1, T4 = 60-30 kg NP ha-1, and T5 = 80-40 kg NP ha-1. Economically significant characteristics of ispaghol, including tillers (m2), plant height (cm), spike length (cm), grain weight spike-1 (g), seed index (1000 grain weight, g), and grain yield (kg ha-1), were noted. Current research indicates that the Ispaghol fertilized with T5=80-40 kg NP ha-1 produced highest yield and superior growth traits as compared to others viz. 225.93 m2 tillers, 44 cm plant height, 4.03 cm spike length, 1.53 grain weight spike-1, 8.30 g seed index, and 818 kg ha-1 grain yield. It was concluded that (80-40 kg NP ha-1) produce more yield and the growth and yield traits of Ispaghol proved remarkable significant (P<0.05).
